1. Woodstock. Calling his latest tour My 50 Year Trip, American singer/songwriter John Fogerty is looking back on his former band Creedence Clearwater Revival’s performance at the 1969 Woodstock Festival. Each show features a montage of vintage photos from Woodstock and of Fogerty from the era, as well as songs from the performance.

2. Songbook. Of course, the American singer/songwriter won’t just be playing songs from that 50-year-old set list. There’ll be songs from throughout his career, including post-Woodstock hits with his former band and songs from his later solo career, like Centerfield. Covers at a Las Vegas residency earlier this year included cuts by the Beatles, the Who, and Sly and the Family Stone.

3. ACME guitar. Fogerty is also playing the same guitar he used at the festival. He was only recently reunited with the instrument, which has the word “ACME” written on the head in yellow paint, thanks to some sleuthing by his wife Julie. He had sold it after the 1972 breakup of CCR.

4. Keeping it in the family. Fogerty is touring with a nine-piece band, including his guitar-playing son, Shane.

5. “A 100-minute joyride.” That’s how ultimateclassicrock.com described a Boston show by Fogerty this past summer. The article goes on to say that the 74-year-old “scampered around the stage like a man a third his age. With the same hairstyle and colour, and similar kind of fringed jacket, Fogerty could actually be the same guy he was in 1969.”
