A complaint was filed against 12 individuals over the death of Cadet 4th Class Darwin Dormitorio before the Baguio City Prosecutor’s Office, police have reported.
A document released by Col. Allan Ray Co, Baguio City Police Office chief, to reporters, indicated that seven Philippine Military Academy (PMA) cadets faced charges for violation of the anti-hazing and anti-torture cases and murder.
They are: Cadet 1st Class Axl Rey Sanopao, Cadets 3rd Class Felix Lumbag, Jr., Julius Carlo Tadena, Shalimar Imperial, John Vincent Manalo, and Rey David John Volante.
The second class cadet was identified as Christian Zacarias.
Two tactical officers were also named respondents: Maj. Rex Bolo and Capt. Jeffrey Batistiana.
Three medical personnel, Captains Flor Apple Apostol and Maria Ofelia Beloy; and Lt. Col. Cesar Candelaria were included in the case.
The five PMA personnel are facing charges for dereliction of duty.
Dormitorio died on September 18 after suffering multiple injuries in his body because of the alleged maltreatment he suffered on August 19 as part of hazing rites.
