Four people are in hospital in stable condition after a rollover collision in Downtown Vancouver on Tuesday morning.

The single-vehicle accident took place around 9:30 a.m. in the 1100-block of Hornby Street, between Davie and Helmcken streets.

First responders found a vehicle flipped onto its roof and resting on the sidewalk. While it’s unclear how the vehicle flipped, Vancouver police Sgt. Aaron Roed said the vehicle also hit a building and injured three pedestrians. Two pedestrians were taken to hospital, along with the driver and a passenger from the vehicle, said Roed.

A B.C. Emergency Health spokeswoman, Shannon Miller, confirmed five ambulances were sent , treating several pedestrians. Miller said all four patients taken to hospital were in stable condition.

As a result, police closed all the lanes on Hornby between Davie and Helmcken, including the bike lane, for some time as investigators probed the crash scene and towed the vehicle. The street was reopened just before 12:30 p.m.
