Hike up your lederhosen and cinch up the dirndl, Bavaria has arrived at Hastings Park with the Harvestland festival.
Billed as the largest harvest festival in Canada, Harvestland features family fun with an Oktoberfest twist that includes tractor rides, a pumpkin patch, pumpkin slingshots and games.
Harvestland is divided into four areas: Woodland Den, featuring a wooden maze and logger sports; Kinder Farm, an interactive agriculture learning area for kids; Bavarian Village, described as one part medieval renaissance and one part harvest gaming area; and Harvest Rides, featuring the Cuckoo Haus, Jet Coaster, Carousel and Vertigo thrill rides.
“The festival grounds have something for everyone to enjoy, whether it be our selection of amusement rides, pumpkin patch or the educational agriculture learning area for children. Harvestland is the autumn adventure you won’t want to miss,” PNE president and CEO Shelley Frost said.
Harvestland is open to the public from Oct. 10-20 (with the exception of Oct. 15).
The PNE is offering free admission to Harvestland for the first two hours on opening day, Thursday, Oct. 10, and an hour of free rides, between noon and 1 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 12.
Tickets (not including taxes and fees) are $14.99 for adults, $9.99 for children and $44.99 for a family pass (two adults and three children), and are available online at https://harvest.land/festival/.
Hastings Park is also hosting Harvest Haus, an Oktoberfest party for adults, inside the PNE forum with beer drinking, stein clinking and oompah music.
Harvest Haus will be open Oct. 10-12, 18-19.
Tickets, which start at $24.99 (not including fees and taxes), are available online.
