Surrey man arrested after woman found dead in Newton area residence

Homicide investigators have been called in after a woman was found dead Friday at a residence in the Newton area.
Surrey RCMP responded just before 5 p.m. to a report that a woman had died at a home in the 5800-block of 122 Street.
One man was arrested at the scene and remains in custody. Police says the deceased and the suspect know one another.
The incident was contained to the inside of the residence, police said, and there is no indication at this time that the death is related to gang activity.
Mounties have turned the investigation over to IHIT.
