Bernie Sanders Cancels Campaign Events After Heart Procedure

Sen. Bernie Sanders has canceled upcoming campaign events after undergoing a heart procedure Tuesday evening.
Jeff Weaver, senior adviser to the Sanders presidential campaign, said in a statement to reporters on Wednesday that the 78-year-old Vermont Senator was taken to a hospital for testing after experiencing chest pain during during a campaign event on Tuesday evening. Physicians found a blocked artery and inserted two stents to relieve the obstruction.
“Sen. Sanders is conversing and in good spirits,” Weaver said. “He will be resting up over the next few days. We are canceling his events and appearances until further notice and we will continue to provide appropriate updates.”
