A low pressure area (LPA) has developed off the coast on the eastern part of Albay, the state-run weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) last spotted the LPA at 800 kilometers east of Legazpi City, Albay.
Pagasa weather specialist Meno Mendoza said the LPA was less likely to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next two to three days.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country was expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers because of localized thunderstorms.
