A set of gold-plated golf clubs have been returned to their rightful owner in Pitt Meadows.
The clubs, which are valued at $20,000, were reported stolen Sept. 18 from the Meadow Gardens Golf Club.
They were found Sept. 26 by Ridge Meadows RCMP during a patrol of the Brunette Avenue and Dewdney Trunk Road areas. Officers pulled over a car being driven by a known prolific offender who had multiple active warrants. It was when the man was being arrested that Mounties discovered the golden clubs inside the vehicle.
“This is a great example of how it isn’t uncommon for items to be located in completely unrelated investigations, which is why it is so important to report stolen items to police,” said Ridge Meadows RCMP Const. Julie Klaussner.
