LIST: Gov’t to deploy extra buses during transport strike

MANILA, Philippines — Additional public utility buses will be deployed in Metro Manila to help commuters who will be affected by the transport strike on Monday, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said Sunday.

While the LTFRB Chairman Martin Delgra III expects the transport strike to have “minimal effect,” he said contingency plan was prepared for the convenience of commuters.

The additional buses will be deployed in the following routes:

LETRE Malabon via Samson Rd. to Monumento, Caloocan

Valenzuela via McArthur Highway/Rizal Avenue Avenida to Manila

5th Ave. via Rizal Avenue Avenida to Manila

Monumento via McArthur Highway to Malanday Valenzuela

Monumento via Samson Road to Navotas

C3 Dagat-Dagatan via C3 Road to East Bound(going to 5th Avenue)

5th Avenue via C3 Road to South/North Bound

Marikina via Marcos Highway to Angono, Rizal

Marikina via Aurora Blvd. to Cubao

Marikina via Manghan to Pasig

Taft via J.P. Rizal to Guadalupe

Taft via Pedro Gil to Sta. Ana

Quezon Avenue via España Quezon Blvd to Quiapo

RMB via V. Mapa to Plaza Avelino

Baclaran via Dr. A. Santos to Sucat

The deployment of additional buses was done in coordination with the LTFRB, Inter-Agency Council for Traffic, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Philippine National Police – Highway Patrol Group, and local government units.

Meanwhile, the LTFRB also renewed its reminder against drivers and operators in the protests who may be held accountable under LTFRB Memorandum Circular No. 2011-004.
