DAVAO CITY: The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is rushing the completion of a new four-story medical building at the Davao Oriental Provincial Medical Center in Mati City to cater to the medical needs of the public (DOPMC).
In its website, the DPWH said Secretary Mark Villar announced on Thursday the construction of the new medical building was in full blast and would soon be serviceable to the public.
Villar said the DPWH Davao Oriental Second District Engi neering Office (DEO) was fast-tracking the completion of the additional facility in the hospital compound.
The secretary based his statement on an updated report from Director Allan Borromeo of DPWH Region 11 (Davao region).
“This additional facility is expected to enhance delivery of health care services to patients not only in the provincial capital in Mati City, but for the whole province of Davao Oriental,” added Villar.
The new facility is complete with wards, private and semi-private rooms, nurses’ stations and isolation rooms as well as kitchen, laundry and restrooms, with a total cost of P41 million.
Started in January, the improvement of the DOPMC is implemented through the convergence program of DPWH and Department of Health.
