Commuters have expressed frustration over the worsening traffic condition in some portions of the South Luzon Expressway as the construction of the Skyway extension project started Sep. 24.

Moriah Marcelo, a 22-year-old operations supervisor in a business process outsourcing company, said that since the construction of the Skyway extension, she started to allot four to five hours of travel time whenever she goes to work in Taguig City.

Before, it just usually took her some two-and-a-half hours whenever she would leave home in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna, she said.

“But now, the traffic is different,” Marcelo said. “If I would not adjust my travel time, I would report late at work. And that may cost me my job,” she added.
