One person was killed after a helicopter crashed in Campbell River Tuesday morning.
The aircraft went down around 11 a.m. on Tyee Spit, which is home to a few aviation companies.
The lone person aboard the helicopter was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The B.C. Emergency Service dispatched several crews to the scene but scaled back resources after they reached the scene.
“One paramedic crew remains on scene as a precautionary standby for firefighters,” said BCHES spokeswoman Shannon Miller.
“No patients (were) taken to hospital.”
The RCMP are also on scene.
The Transportation Safety Board has been notified.
