Sought-after stars Yasmien Kurdi, Bea Binene and Gabbi Garcia are the three lead actresses of GMA’s newest drama-action series “Beautiful Justice,” which premieres tonight on GMA Network. They will bring to prime time the story of Kitkat, Brie and Alice — women of strength brought together by the tragic death of loved ones.
With them are versatile actor and Kapuso hunk Derrick Monasterio and international model-turned-actor Gil Cuerva who will take on the roles of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents Lance and Vin, respectively.
In the soap, Alice’s (Kurdi) husband, Kitkat’s (Binene) brother and Brie’s (Garcia) boyfriend (Monasterio) are all PDEA agents who die on a failed mission. Eventually, Alice will discover that their passing was not an accident, and that a powerful drug syndicate actually murdered these men. Armed with special skills and with the help of Vin (Cuerva), the three women will unite to track down the syndicate to seek justice.
In an interview with The Manila Times, Garcia shared how the entire cast underwent Krav Maga and intense gun training sessions. Their co-star, Victor Neri, is also one of the stunt trainers and plays an active role in the series to make sure that every scene is accurate and mirrors real-life situations.
“Actually, three months ago pa ako nagte-train. Dapat may gagawin ako na show na action. It got delayed so, at least, nagagamit ko ang lahat ng tinrain ko. We did Krav Maga which is a combination of boxing, wrestling, aikido, judo, karate and realistic fight training,” said Garcia.
“We also had firearm and shooting courses just for the show. Si Kuya Victor Neri ang nag-udyok sa akin na mag-train talaga. Before, nag-one-on-one kami para sa Jujitsu, Krav Maga at target shooting. “Hindi ko alam kung kaya ko at first, but then I enjoyed the training,” she added.
Garcia previously had action scenes for her role as Alena in “Encantadia,” but the 20-year-old star treated this as a different kind of challenge.
“Siguro mas nanibago ako this time, mas-tutok yung training and mas hand-to-hand combat talaga kumpara sa Engka,” she said referring to the fantasy series “Encantadia.”
Completing the stellar cast are Valeen Montenegro and Bing Loyzaga.
In addition, Beautiful Justice is also sanctioned by the PDEA and is working closely with its agents to bring viewers a realistic look into their lives.
Esteemed director Mark Reyes 5th is at the helm of this exciting soap.
Beautiful Justice premiers today and will show weeknights after “24 Oras” on GMA Telebabad.
