‘Habagat,’ trough of LPA prevail

The southwest monsoon or “habagat” and the trough of a low-pressure area will be the prevailing weather systems over the country this weekend as typhoon “Liwayway” (international name “Lingling”) was expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility yesterday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration estimated the location of Liwayway at 555 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes before noon yesterday.
