Free online training for newcomers in accounting or finance

New to Canada and working in the financial sector?
Conestoga College and Colleges Ontario have launched a free pilot online communications training program for newcomers who are working in accounting or finance.
This free Occupation-Specific Language Training (OSLT) online course will teach valuable communication skills used in a financial/accounting workplace. Through practical and innovate online modules, participants will explore intercultural communication in the workplace, learn to effectively participate in meetings, deliver successful presentations and manage interactions with colleagues and clients.
Who can apply?
You can apply for the professional development training if:
• you are currently working in an accounting or finance occupation in Ontario;
• your English is at an intermediate level (level 6 to 8 in Canadian Language Benchmarks); and
• you are a permanent resident or a protected person who lives in Ontario.
Ongoing modules start in Fall 2019. Access to a computer with video/audio capabilities and an internet connection is required.
