Trillanes denies hand in alleged kidnapping

FORMER senator Antonio Trillanes 4th on Friday denied his alleged involvement in the kidnapping of a businesswoman.
This was his response to the kidnapping charges filed by Guillerma Arcillas before the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG).
In a text message to the media, Trillanes said he had never met Arcillas, adding that this could be another ploy of the Duterte administration to silence his critics.
“Bukod pa d’yan, 2016 pa raw s’ya kinidnap, pero ngayon lang nag-file ng kaso (Not only that, she was supposedly kidnapped in 2016, but it was only now that she filed the case),” Trillanes continued.
The former senator alleged that Arcillas volunteered to testify against President Rodrigo Duterte, but her story had many loopholes.
“At nanghihingi diumano ng pera kapalit ng kanyang salaysay kaya hindi tinanggap bilang testigo (And she allegedly demanded money in exchange for her testimony, that’s why she was rejected as a witness),” Trillanes said.
