Pedestrian, 74, in hospital following hit-and-run accident in Burnaby

A 74-year-old woman is in hospital following a hit-and-run accident in Burnaby Wednesday evening.
Burnaby RCMP say the incident happened around 6:50 p.m. at an intersection near the 4000-block of Canada Way.
The woman was struck inside a crosswalk.
The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene.
The woman, whose name was not released, suffered what police described as non-life threatening injuries.
“Police believe there were a number of witnesses that did not remain on scene that could provide important information to further this investigation,” Burnaby RCMP Cpl. Daniela Panesar said in a news release.
