Coquitlam RCMP seek missing woman under BC Mental Health Act

Police are searching for a missing woman in Coquitlam who is wanted on a B.C. Mental Health Act warrant.

Shannon McDonald was last spotted around 7 p.m. on Aug. 23 in Port Coquitlam. She was reported missing to police about two hours later.

McDonald is wanted under the Mental Health Act as there is concern for her well-being and health and police are obliged to apprehend her and return her to a designated facility.

She is described as a 27-year-old white woman, with short, dark brown hair and hazel eyes. McDonald is about 5-foot-3 and weighs approximately 237 pounds. When she was last seen, she was wearing black yoga pants and a black hoodie; she also has a pierced lip and a tattoo on her right wrist.

Anyone with information about McDonald’s whereabouts is asked to contact Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and cite file number 2019-25950.
