The City of North Vancouver has been awarded $250,000 in federal money to study traffic congestion on the North Shore and come up with ways to alleviate the issue.
The study is expected to complement and build on recommendations made in the Integrated North Shore Transportation Planning Project report, which was released last fall and involved the federal and provincial governments, and the three North Shore municipalities.
It’s expected that the city will develop a business case with options, such as rapid transit, that will be presented to TransLink as part of its Transport 2050 planning process.
The money is coming from Western Economic Diversification Canada.
