SAF man arrested for killing his commanding officer

A member of the PNP Special Action Force (SAF) was arrested Monday after he shot dead his commanding officer who scolded him inside the latter’s office at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.
Police said the victim, Police Maj. Emerson Palomares, 30, died at the Parañaque Doctors Hospital due to multiple gunshot wounds in the body.
The suspect, Police Master Sergeant Sanwright Lobhoy, 41, was immediately arrested by responding police officers and is now under the custody the PNP-SAF.
Investigation showed that the incident occurred at around 4:40 p.m. on Monday at the office of Palomares.
It was learned that prior to the shooting, the victim reportedly called Lobhoy inside his office and scolded the latter for unknown reason.
Based the report, the victim and the suspect engaged in the heated confrontation until Lobhoy pulled out his service firearm and shot the victim repeatedly.
Palomares was rushed to the Sabili Hospital and later transferred to the Paranaque Doctors Hospital where he died at around 5:23 p.m.
Police said Lobhoy did not give any statement on the incident.
SAF members claimed that the suspect only told them that he allegedly got irritated when scolded and had no intention to kill his commanding officer.
Police have yet to determine the real motive behind the altercation of the victim and the suspect. (Dhel Nazario, Jean Fernando)
