Archery, boxing at PSA Forum

IT’S a loaded session of the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum today with archery, boxing, and the Universities, Colleges, Schools Athletic Association (UCSAA) heading the topic of discussion at the Amelie Hotel-Manila.
Veteran coach Clint Sayo and archers Paul and Rachelle Dela Cruz, along with Andrea Robles will talk about the Philippine archery team’s chances in the coming 30th Southeast Asian Games as well as next month’s test event, the third leg of the Asia Cup leg 3 to be held in Tarlac.
Joining them in the forum presented by San Miguel Corp., Braska Restaurant, and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) are the protagonists in this weekend’s International Boxing Organization (IBO) flyweight title bout between Carlo Penalosa and Maximino Flores of Mexico.
Accompanying the boxers are two-time world champion Gerry Penalosa together with the finalists of the Ultimate Boxing Series, namely April Jay Abne, Ronel Sumalpong, Lienard Sarcon, and Aljum Pelesio.
Finally, UCSAA officials will grace the 10:00 a.m. public sports program led by president Dr. Nestor V. Dela Cruz of Saint Dominic Savio College.
The league opens its ninth season on August 30 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
