DoLE bans 21 foreign recruitment agencies, direct employers

The Department of Labor and Employment yesterday reported the blacklisting of 21 foreign recruitment agencies and direct employers as well as the suspension or cancellation of licenses of 19 erring local recruitment firms.

According to the Labor department, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration said those meted with suspension, fine, or cancellation of licenses were found to have violated recruitment rules from January to July.

The DoLE added that the move was part of the continuing bid by the government to rid the overseas placement industry of “misfits.”

“Cleansing the industry is part of the intensified regulatory exercise to protect the Filipino workers and promote the welfare of those seeking overseas employment,” Administrator Bernard Olalia of the POEA said.

Among the disqualified foreign recruitment agencies or direct employers are AV Global Harvest PTE Ltd., Isa Khouri Metal Industries Ltd. and Amir Khoury, Raffles International Christian School, Al Tauqueet Trading and Services Est/Al Tauqet Trading & Services Co., Noora Salem Saad Occie for Recruitment of Domestic Helpers Office, All Pro Recruitment Agency, Marwan Slim;

Food Equipment Supplying Co. Limited (Fesco) & Thaer H. Abdou, Wanasah Manpower Supply & Mohammed Naser Al Naser, Bader Contracting & Trading Co./Bard Cont and Trad, Speedy Tech Electronics Co. Ltd., Staff Buro Staffing, Candice Cruz and Allan John Wilton, Jalal Al Jalal Construction Est./Al Nassr Ahssa Trading Contracting Co./Jalal Al Jalal/Saad Saleh Al Jalal, Marhaba Shopping Center, Hadi Al Hamroor Contracting Est. and Fawzi Al Najrani Est./Fouzi Saleh Najrani Contracting, and Yacht Tours Maldives Pvt.
