BACOLOD CITY – A police trainee was arrested after he was caught by his superior allegedly using marijuana inside his boarding house in Barangay 37 here last Saturday.
Arrested was Patrolman Bryn Jephthah Gimotea, 32, of Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
Police Col. Henry Biñas, director of the Bacolod City Police Office, said Gimotea is currently on a six-month training at the Regional Training School at Bakyas in Barangay Mansilingan.
Police confiscated from Gimotea an improvised cigarette rolling pipe containing partly burned suspected dried marijuana leaves worth P700, a plastic containing suspected dried marijuana leaves, and a lighter.
Biñas said Gimotea was previously warned by his superior, but this time, “he needs to face the consequence of his action.”
He said Gimotea will be subjected to drug test and will be facing criminal and administrative charges.
Gimotea, who refused comment, is detained at the BCPO Station 1. (Glazyl Masculino)
