11 hurt in SUV-jeepney collision in Sorsogon

LEGAZPI CITY — Eleven persons were injured when a passenger jeepney and a sports utility vehicle collided on Saturday in Sorsogon City, a police report said.
The initial police report said the head-on collision happened at 6:04 a.m. in Barangay Pampang.
The SUV driver, a teenager, told police that he fell asleep while driving, causing him to lose control of his vehicle. He was on his way home to Barangay Rizal in Sorsogon City.
The jeep with 10 passengers was bound for Irosin town in Sorsogon province for an excursion.
A report from disaster officials said two of the injured passengers were in critical condition.
The victims were taken to a nearby hospital and treated for contusions and other body injuries./lzb
