A drowning swimmer who was pulled from the Killarney Pool by lifeguards on Sunday has died in hospital.
The Vancouver Park Board says the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. at the Killarney Leisure Pool, located near Rupert and 49th East streets.
The park board says lifeguards “performed a rescue of a swimmer” who was transported to hospital, where they later died.
“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the family and community,” the park board said in a statement.
The name, age and gender of the drowning victim was not released.
The Killarney pool is a 25-metre long indoor leisure pool that features a 15-metre lap tank, lazy river and water slides.
