Police are investigating after a motorcyclist died near Kamloops after hitting a deer and was thrown from the motorbike and hit by another vehicle.

According to RCMP, the fatal collision took place around 9:45 p.m. on Friday evening on Highway 1, near the Lafarge exit.

The westbound motorcycle hit a deer and caused the lone rider to fall from the motorcycle. The rider was then hit by one or more vehicles driving along the highway.

Investigators say it’s possible the drivers did not realize they had hit the motorcyclist. Police are now asking anyone who was in the area at the time, including commercial vehicles, to reach out to RCMP’s traffic services at 250-828-3111.
