PPA: Manila South Harbor ‘now back to full commercial operations’

MANILA, Philippines — Operations at the Manila South Harbor resumed Friday evening, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) said.
The port regulator ordered the Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI) to halt the acceptance of delivery trucks and container vans into the Manila South Harbor on Friday morning, as PPA suspended the Terminal Appointment Booking System (TABS) due to bad weather.
ATI was the private operator of the Manila North Harbor.
In a statement on Facebook, PPA said around 1,000 boxes have already been placed inside the terminal for processing and that around 20% are still for processing.
“As of 5PM today, 80% of the backlog of approximately 1,000 boxes are already inside the terminal for processing. Terminal now back to full commercial operations,” PPA wrote.
Port operations have been experiencing a “stop-go” situation since Thursday due to the severe wind disturbance, according to PPA.
