CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, IMUS, Cavite – An abducted Chinese-Malaysian tourist was found dumped and wounded on Abaya Road in Barangay Batong Dalig, Kawit, the Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) reported Wednesday.

Corporal Joseph Camareg and Patrolman Arthur Lingad of the Kawit Municipal Police Station found Kein Chek Loi, 37, in the area at 5 p.m. Tuesday and they brought him to Kalayaan Hospital.

Initial police report showed that Loi was held by a still unidentified Chinese group outside the Resort World Casino in Pasay City at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 28, asked to board a car and brought to an unknown place where he was in captive for two days.

The suspects reportedly harmed Loi and took his wallet, cellphone and other valuables.

Loi was released by his abductors on Sunday afternoon. He was billeted at Fersal Hotel prior to his abduction, it was reported.

The local police withheld other details about the incident for the meantime.

In his report, Staff Sergeant Mark Joseph Tambanillo Arayata, case investigator, said that Loi will be turned over to the Philippine National Police-Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) after treatment at the hospital.

Cavite PPO reports showed that it was the second time in three months that a kidnapped Chinese tourist was found in Kawit after his escape from a house in Baypoint Subdivision in Barangay San Sebastian, also in the municipality.

The escape led police to the rescue of 10 other Chinese tourists who were detained at a house in a subdivision in Barangay San Antonio II in Noveleta, a neighboring municipality of Kawit.

It turned out that the 11 tourists were held and detained by nine so-called casino loan sharks — seven Chinese and two Filipinos — when they could not pay them after losing in gambling games.

The nine suspects were charged with kidnapping and serious illegal detention at the Cavite Provincial Prosecutor’s Office after their arrest. (Anthony Giron)
