Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has directed the city’s Business License Office on Monday to withdraw all business and mayor’s permits of all gaming establishments managed by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in the city of Manila.
This, following President Duterte’s crackdown on the gaming activities operated, licensed and franchised by the PCSO last Friday.
Domagoso signed the memorandum while giving his early morning “capital report” which was streamed online.
He said his directive will remain for as long as the President’s national policy is in place.
It can be recalled that on Friday, President Duterte declared all PCSO gaming activities as illegal, thus, he ordered for its immediate shutdown.
As of July 28, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has closed around 23,654 PCSO gaming outlets nationwide. (Hanah Tabios)
