Leni satisfaction rating drops

Fewer Filipinos are satisfied with the performance of Vice President Leni Robredo in the past three months, the second quarter of 2019 Social Weather Stations survey released yesterday showed.
In the nationwide survey conducted last June 22 to 26 among 1,200 respondents, the SWS found out that 57 percent were satisfied and 29 percent were dissatisfied with the performance of Robredo, for a net satisfaction rating of +28, classified by SWS as “moderate.”
It is significantly lower than Robredo’s net rating of “good” +42 (63 percent satisfied, 21 percent dissatisfied) in March 2019.
SWS terminology for net satisfaction ratings are: +70 and above, “excellent”; +50 to +69, “very good”; +30 to +49, good; +10 to +29, moderate; +9 to -9, “neutral”; -10 to -29, “poor”; -30 to -49, “bad”; -50 to 69, “very bad”; and -70 and below, “execrable.”
The pollster attributed the 14-point decline in the overall net satisfaction rating of Robredo to decreases of 21 points in Visayas, 18 points in Mindanao, and 13 points in the rest of Luzon, combined with a steady net rating in Metro Manila.
Also in the survey, the SWS found that the public’s net satisfaction with Senate President Tito Sotto III stayed “very good” at +60 (72 percent satisfied, 13 percent dissatisfied), down slightly from +61 in March 2019.
The SWS said the one-point decline in the overall net satisfaction rating of Sotto was due to decreases of eight points in Mindanao and five points in the rest of Luzon, combined with increases of 11 points in Metro Manila and three points in Visayas.
The June 2019 survey found that 29 percent were satisfied and 49 percent were dissatisfied with then House Speaker Gloria M. Arroyo. The resulting net satisfaction rating was “poor” -20, down from the “poor” -17 in March 2019.
The three-point decline in the final overall net satisfaction rating of Mrs. Arroyo was due to decreases of seven points in the rest of Luzon and four points in Metro Manila, combined with increases of three points in Visayas and one point in Mindanao.
Also in the survey, 37 percent were satisfied and 24 percent were dissatisfied with Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin. His resulting net satisfaction rating stayed “moderate” at +13, down slightly from +14 in March 2019.
The one-point decline in the overall net satisfaction rating of Bersamin was due to increases of 24 points in Metro Manila and four points in Visayas, combined with decreases of 11 points in the rest of Luzon and four points in Mindanao. (Ellalyn Ruiz)
