3 killed, P70-M ‘shabu’ seized in Cebu buy-bust

CEBU CITY: Intelligence operatives shot to death three suspected drug pushers who yielded more than P70 million worth of suspected shabu after engaging in a gunfight in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Subangdaku, in Mandaue City, Cebu on Tuesday.
Col. Jonathan Abella, city director of the Mandaue City Police Office, said they have yet to identify the fatalities.
Abella said an undercover police officer bought a kilo of shabu for P100,000 from one of the suspects and when they noticed that they were transacting with a police officer, they engaged in a shootout along the road at about 3:30 p.m.
Abella said two of the suspects died on the spot while the other died at the Mandaue District Hospital.
Police confiscated 11 kilograms of shabu from the suspects with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P74,800,000.
Abella said they were tracing the source of the banned substance.
Investigation and inventory are ongoing as of posting time.
