THREE out of five Filipinos do not want the government to block international groups from investigating killings related to the Duterte administration’s drug war, a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey said.
The 1,200 respondents aged 18 years and above were asked about whether “The government should not block the investigation of international groups, like the United Nations, into the killing by the Philippine police of so many drug suspects who supposedly fought back.”
The survey, released on Monday afternoon, found that 60 percent of Filipinos agreed with the statement.
Only 15 percent answered otherwise while 25 percent were undecided.
The results total a net agreement rating of +45, which SWS considers as “very strong.”
It is highest in Mindanao with an “extremely strong” +50, followed by “very strong” net scores in Balance Luzon (+45,) Metro Manila (+43) and Visayas (+42.)
It was also “very strong” in both urban and rural areas at +46) and +44 respectively.
The net agreement was also “very strong” in all classes.
It was the highest in class D at +46, followed by class E at +45 and classes A, B and C at +37.
It was also “very strong” among both genders, at +47 for women and +44 for men.
The survey from June 22 to 26, 2019 had sampling error margins of ±3 percent for national percentages, and ±6 percent each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao. RALPH VILLANUEVA
