3 robbery-holdup suspects shot dead in QC gunfight

gunThree robbery-holdup suspects were gunned down by the police in an encounter in Quezon City yesterday.

Quezon City Police District probers identified the slain suspects as Dunhill dela Cruz, alias “Labong,” Jeffrey Gloria, and Jesse Forte Jr., all residents of Manila.

Initial investigation showed that the QCPD Special Operations Unit received information at past 12 a.m. that members of the so-called “Nonoy Hermosa Robbery Group” will victimize residents in Barangay Sto. Domingo.

Authorities immediately responded to the report. Upon checking the area, officers spotted four men onboard two motorcycles who matched the description of their informant.

When police were about to approach the group, the men suddenly pulled out their handguns and shot at the officers, resulting in a shootout.

During the exchange of gunfire, one of the men managed to escape from the scene. He was later identified as a certain “Nonoy Hermosa” who was the leader of the group.

Hermosa’s companions died on the spot due to multiple bullet wounds.

Three caliber .45 handguns and a sachet of suspected shabu were recovered from the suspects.

A follow-up investigation is now ongoing to locate and arrest Hermosa. (Alexandria San Juan)
