Duterte still most approved, trusted govt official – Pulse Asia

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has remained the “most approved and trusted” official among high-ranking officials in the country, with eight out of 10 favoring and trusting his work, according to the latest Pulse Asia survey released on Wednesday.
The same survey showed that former Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was the least approved and trusted official while Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo and Senate President Vicente Sotto 3rd enjoyed majority approval and trust scores.
Pulse Asia’s June poll results found that Duterte continued to enjoy the highest approval and trust scores both at 85 percent.
The figure was two points below the 87 percent he received in March, a notch below his highest approval rating of 88 percent in June 2018.
Earlier this month, the President also received a new personal record-high satisfaction rating of 80 percent, according to a Social Weather Stations survey, despite the Recto Bank incident last month.
Robredo received a 55 percent approval rating and a 52 percent trust rating, an increase from the 49 percent and 47 percent ratings from the previous quarter.
Sotto also enjoyed a spike in his trust and approval ratings, garnering 73 percent and 77 percent, respectively, from the previous quarter’s 65 percent and 61 percent.
Arroyo, who got the lowest ratings, had 26 percent approval rating and a 22 percent trust rating. The figures were a slight increase from 22 percent and 19 percent in March.
Supreme Court Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin also received a slight rise in his approval rating, garnering 41 percent from last quarter’s 38 percent. His trust rating remained unchanged at 35 percent.
The poll from June 24 to 30 on 1,200 adult Filipinos, had a sampling error margin of ±2.8 percentage points at the 95 percent confidence level.
Subnational estimates for each of Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao have a ±5.7 percentage point-error margin at 95 percent confidence level. CATHERINE S. VALENTE
