Games Today (The Arena, San Juan City)
3 p.m. – Pacifictown Army vs BanKo Perlas
5 p.m. – Creamline vs PetroGazz
Creamline and PetroGazz begin their championship series in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference today – each one determined to clinch the psychological advantage at The Arena in San Juan City.
Match is set at 5 p.m. with both teams expected to go all-out to win the opener of the best-of-three title series.
The Cool Smashers seek to defend their crown against the Angels with the former riding high on an impressive 11-game winning run, including a sweep of their best-of-three semifinal series against Pacifictown Army.
Though they’re richer in championship experience, the Cool Smashers remain wary of the Angels.
The top-seeded PetroGazz advanced to the finals by also sweeping the fourth-seeded BanKo-Perlas in their own semis series.
The Angels’ rise is largely due to imports Wilma Salas and Janisa Johnson but the two refused to take the credit to themselves claiming others are also doing their share.
Salas has averaged 24 points in the semis while Johnson posted 18 points per game.
Creamline, which boasts of a deeper lineup composed of Alyssa Valdez, Michelle Gumabao and imports Kuttika Kaewpin and Ale Blanco, just aims to be consistent.
