Fighters react to Jorge Masvidal’s five-second KO of Ben Askren at UFC 239

After weeks of some heated trash talk, Jorge Masvidal finally faced Ben Askren at UFC 239 on Saturday in Las Vegas. Thanks to Masvidal and his running knee, it lasted all of five seconds.

As the fight opened, Masvidal sprinted from his side of the fence and connected with Askren’s head as he crouched to try to engage with Masvidal. It was the fastest KO in UFC history.

Other UFC fighters had a lot to say about the historic KO in the moments after Masvidal silenced the previously undefeated Askren.

Mike brown and masvidal told me last night at dinner he was gonna Start this fight with a flying knee and showed me video on Mike’s phone of him practicing
