Manny Pacquiao went to ‘work’ on Tuesday (Wednesday in Manila) as he did the pad work with Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, California.
Before showing up at the Wild Card’s doorstep, Pacquiao ran in the morning at the Pan Pacific Park, a little over a month before he battles Keith Thurman in their World Boxing Association welterweight unification fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao, 40, arrived in the US on Saturday night from Manila, skipped afternoon gym training on Monday after scaling Griffith Park in the morning.
During his Manila training camp, Pacquiao sparred for two weeks and tapped Australian Tim Tszyu and French Jaber Zayani.
Conditioning coach Justin Fortune, who supervised the training in the Philippines, is upbeat that the Filipino eight-division champion will deal Thurman’s first loss in 30 fights.
However, Fortune, a former powerlifter and heavyweight fighter, insists that Thurman, just like any other Pacquiao opponent, will answer the bell in terrific shape.
“When they fight Pacquiao, they fight ten times better than their normal,” said Fortune.
Last January, Pacquiao easily beat Adrien Broner and is looking forward to doing the same thing against the trash-talking Thurman.
