The Philippine Blu Boys absorbed an 11-2 loss to Cuba in five innings at the start of the Men’s Softball World Championship at the Hippos Arena in Prague, Czech Republic.
The Blu Boys were trailing 4-2 before the Cubans erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to suffer a stinging defeat.
Juan Carlos Rodriguez produced a two-run single and Reiner Vera Mesa smashed a two-run homer to highlight Cuba’s onslaught in the said inning.
The national softbelles are hoping to secure a top four finish in Pool A to reach the quarterfinals. (Jonas Terrado)
