MANILA, Philippines — Two Chinese men were arrested for kidnapping a fellow Chinese man in a casino in Parañaque, police said on Wednesday.
According to Philippine National Police-Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG), Wang Sing Dong, 33, was gambling at a resort and casino in Parañaque when the two suspects — Yuan Zhong Xie, 32, and Liu Bo, 38 — offered him P500,000 in cash.
Wang was required to pay P10,000 per day and sign an agreement. However, the victim failed to pay the suspects, who then abducted him on May 19.
On May 20, Wang called his father, Wang Pin Gian, to help him pay his debt. Five days later, Wang’ father sent 37,600 renminbi through money transfer in the Rural Bank in China. A day after, the father sent another 30,000 renminbi.
On Monday, May 27, suspects brought Wang back to the hotel and forced him to pay another P80,000 for eight days.
Wang then asked help from hotel security, which then notified the PNP-AKG.
