NORTHPORT stunned TNT KaTropa, 110-86, to remain unscathed in three games of Season 44 of the Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner’s Cup on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
After trailing 62-65 in the third period, the Batang Pier unleashed a 21-0 blast for an 83-65 advantage and never looked back as it tied early leader Blackwater on top of the standings.
“I can’t say anything to my players because they played perfectly. Sean (Anthony) and Mo (Tautuaa) played solid defense on Terrence Jones. They restrained that high scoring import,” said Northport coach Pido Jarencio.
Pringle returned from a foot injury to score 22 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field while Robert Bolick made 21 points to lead the Batang Pier.
Import Prince Ibeh tallied 18 points and collected 20 rebounds while Sean Anthony added 13 points, Garvo Lanete and Moala Tautuaa contributed 12 and 11 points, respectively, also for the Batang Pier.
Troy Rosario and Roger Pogoy posted 22 and 19 points, respectively, while TNT’s import Terrence Jones was limited to just 17 points after averaging 42 points in the first two games.
TNT dropped to a 2-1 win-loss record.
