BAGUIO CITY: Two Philippine Military Academy (PMA) cadets won’t be able to graduate on Sunday, a spokesman for the PMA said.

Reynan Afan told reporters on the sidelines that the two, whom he did not identify, “broke rules and missed requirements.” This means that 261 out of the 263 would graduate. Of the total, 190 are male cadets and 73 are female.

Afan said that the PMA’s academic board decided on the matter last Tuesday.

However, the academic board will still decide on whether they will let the two cadets graduate after a month or make them repeat a whole year.

The top 10 of the class is divided into five male and female cadets.

President Rodrigo Duterte will preside over Sunday’s graduation, his first public appearance since rumors swirled that he was hospitalized due to a cardiac arrest. His last public appearance was during the May 13 mid-term elections. RALPH VILLANUEVA
