PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte “neither confirmed nor denied” reports that he was hospitalized, his spokesman said on Sunday, after a tweet was posted earlier in the day saying that he was brought to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan City.
The tweet also said that the hospital raised a “Code Blue,” even in its parking area.
”I just talked to him, he is neither confirming nor denying that he went to the hospital,” said Salvador Panelo when sought for comment.
Panelo said the President was “in his residence at the Palace signing papers.”
In a text message to The Manila Times, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said that the tweet was “not true.”
Medialdea said Duterte may “probably be in his quarters and resting like what I will do in a few minutes.”
Former Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go also denied the report.
The state of Duterte’s health has been questioned these past months.
In October, Duterte admitted that he underwent endoscopy and colonoscopy in the same hospital.
