Comelec canvass of midterm votes now at 94.61%

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec), sitting as the National Board of Canvassers, has finished counting 94.61 percent of certificates of canvass (COCs) as of 8 p.m. on Saturday.
Specifically, Comelec finished 158 out of 167 COCs from 130 clustered precincts.
As of this writing, Comelec was still awaiting the transmission of local precincts from Lanao Del Sur, Isabela Province, Zamboanga Del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur and persons of deprived of liberty (PDL).
For overseas absentee voting, Comelec was still waiting for COCs from Nigeria, Washington D.C. in the United States, Tokyo in Japan, and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.
The canvassing of votes resumed on Saturday, starting at 2 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m.
The NBOC began the canvassing of votes for the 2019 May midterm polls last Monday at 4:30 p.m.
