ACT-CIS pulls away in party-list contest

MANILA, Philippines – The Anti-Crime and Terrorism – Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) continues to dominate the party-list race while Bayan Muna and Ako Bicol breached the 1 million vote mark, based on the latest partial and official count of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

As of 7:30 p.m. Friday, Comelec data showed that ACT-CIS, the party-list group backed by media personality Erwin Tulfo, garnered 2,487,362 to pull away in the party-list derby.

ACT-CIS is more than a million votes ahead of second placer Bayan Muna and third placer Ako Bicol.

Bayan Muna has 1,065,833 votes, so far while Ako Bicol got 1,038,006 votes.

Cibac  – 896,571

Ang Probinsyano – 713,710

1Pacman – 678,749

Probinayano Ako – 588,682

Marino – 570,101

Senior Citizens – 489,625

Magsasaka – 464,197

APEC party-list is in 11th place with 458,379 votes, followed by An Waray (439,137 votes) and Gabriela (436,747 votes).

The canvassed votes were sourced from 146 out of 167 certificates of canvass or 87.43 percent of the total number of COCs.

There are 181 party-list groups in the May midterm elections vying for 59 seats in the House of Representatives.

A group needs to get at least 2 percent of the total party-list votes to earn a lower house seat.
