Latest Comelec tally: Bam in, JV out of ‘Magic 12’ , Villar still No. 1

MANILA, Philippines – The Commission on Elections’ (Comelec) latest official senatorial race count Thursday night showed opposition reelectionist Sen. Bam Aquino making it to the Top 12, while Sen. JV Ejercito drifted out of the winners’ circle, even as Sen. Cynthia Villar and Grace Poe retained the top two slots.
Based on Comelec’s latest partial and official count as of 9:30 p.m., Aquino is in 12th spot with 11,001,047 votes.
He was out of the Top 12 Tuesday night.
Ejercito, who was in 11th place after Comelec closed its official canvassing late Tuesday night, is now ranked 14th with 10,984,412 votes.
Villar still leads the pack with 19,383,224 votes, followed by Poe with 17,043,889 votes.
Former Special Assistant to the President Christopher ‘Bong’ Go is in third place with15,685,847 votes followed by Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano with 15,330,363 votes.
The votes were sourced from 107 electronically received certificate of canvass (COCs).
The Comelec, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), has so far received 129 COCs out of the 167 total COCs from the May 13 midterm elections.
