A YELLOW alert was raised on Wednesday in the Luzon grid due to its reduced capacity or inability to meet the demand of its consumers, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) said.
In its advisory, the NGCP said the alert was up at 9 a.m. and would be in effect until 4 p.m.
Available capacity is at 11,845 megawatts (MW) while peak demand is at 11,214 MW.
The NGCP declares a yellow alert when reserves are less than the capacity of the biggest plant in the grid which is 647 MW for Luzon.
