FORMER Interior secretary and Otso Diretso senatorial candidate Manuel “Mar” Roxas 2nd was the first to vote among his partymates on Monday morning, Election Day.
Donning a blue shirt, his signature color during the campaign period, Roxas voted at the Don Conrado Barrios Elementary School in Barangay Baybay, Roxas City in Capiz at about 6 a.m.
The former Liberal Party standard bearer was among the opposition candidates who has a higher chance of getting into the “Magic 12”, alongside re-electionist Sen. Paolo “Bam” Benigno Aquino 4th.
In the May 3-6 Pulse Asia survey, however, Roxas dropped further from 14th-17th ranking to 16th-17th spot.
He also registered a lower voting preference of 21.1 percent from last month’s 24.5 percent.
Only Aquino, so far, has managed to enter into the winning circle, ranking from 9th to 15th, while the rest of the opposition candidates are placed from the 21st to the 37th spot. GLEE JALEA
