The low-pressure area east of Mindanao will likely dissipate after moving inland over Northern Mindanao and Caraga, according to the State weather bureau yesterday.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration weather specialist Raymond Ordinarion said the LPA, which is embedded inside the intertropical convergence zone, was estimated at 570 kilometers east-northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur yesterday morning.

It may bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga and Northern Mindanao. Ordinario said the LPA could dissipate after it hits land yesterday.

Improving weather condition is expected over Mindanao, especially in Caraga and Northern Mindanao, today.

Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwesterly winds today.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers from localized thunderstorms. (Ellalyn V. Ruiz)
