Villar, Poe, Cayetano top Pulse Asia pre-election survey

Sen. Cynthia Villar topped Pulse Asia’s senatorial pre-election survey, edging out Sen. Grace Poe who led previous polls.
The survey results released on Saturday , May 11, showed Villar taking the lead with 55.9 percent voter preference.
Poe occupied second to third place with 47.7 percent voter preference.
She was followed by former senator and Taguig City Rep. Pilar Juliana “Pia” Cayetano with 45 percent and former Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, who got 42 percent voter preference.
Former senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. ranked fourth to eight place with 39.5 percent, followed by former senator Emmanuel “Lito” Lapid whose 38.5 percent preference placed him in the fourth to ninth place.
Other candidates in the top 12 were former police chief Ronald “Bato” de la Rosa, Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos, and re-electionists Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, Maria Lourdes “Nancy” Binay, Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel 3rd and Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito.
Former senator Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada trailed his half-brother, followed by Sen. Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino 4th and former presidential political adviser Francis “Tol” Tolentino.
Former senators Sergio Osmeña 3rd and Mar Roxas were tied at the 16th to 17th spot, while former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile landed on the 18th to 19th spot.
Pulse Asia surveyed 1,800 respondents aged 18 and above from May 3 to 6, about a week before the mid-term polls on May 13. It put the margin of error at + or – 2.3 percent with a confidence level of 95 percent. Javier Joe Ismael
