UNIVERSITY of the Philippines kept its Finals hopes alive following a 1-0 victory over University of Santo Tomas Saturday in the UAAP Season 81 women’s football tournament at the Circulo Verde pitch.
Sofia Dungca struck in the 47th minute which turned out to be the Lady Maroons’ winning moment and improve to eight points.
UP’s win gave defending two-time titlist De La Salle the first slot in the May 16 championship match. The Lady Archers will make their fourth consecutive Finals appearance.
The loss ended the Tigresses’ bid for a third straight championship appearance as they finished the double-round eliminations with nine points.
